“Holy Miška,” Well Water and Amulets

In the late 1810s Mihály Franković, called “Holy Miška,” gathered followers in Kolut. They distributed small objects worn on the body and offered water from a well credited with protective or healing power. The response of the parish priest and consistory preserved the practice in documents, although the exact well has not been located.
