An ethnological record from Bereg lists different Kraljice songs for a priest, a young man, a girl, a widow and a childless family. The procession therefore acted as a moving map of the village: the group knew who lived behind each gate and adapted its words publicly. The song described a specific social position, not an abstract custom.
