The Borđoš copy of Dušan’s Code did not survive only in a state library or monastery. Its route passes through a priestly family and Stanišić, where the manuscript was kept before entering wider scholarship. The striking part is the fragility of transmission: a major legal text survived because a small number of people treated it as a family possession.
